What is N.C. Cooperative Extension?

N.C. Cooperative Extension is an outreach effort of the College of Agriculture & Life Science at North Carolina State University and the School of Agriculture & Environmental & Allied Sciences at North Carolina A&T State University. N.C. Cooperative Extension provides learning opportunities that help residents of North Carolina attain economic prosperity, become better stewards of the environment, and enhance their quality of life.

In partnership with Davie County, state and federal governments, N.C. Cooperative Extension seeks to involve the whole community in educational opportunities that will “Extend Knowledge and Enrich Lives”  of Davie County farmers and citizens.

What can Davie County Extension do for you?

4 – H
If you have a child ages 5-18 (as of the current year), please call our office for information on how to get them involved in 4-H! They will have fun, but more importantly, they will learn valuable life skills. We offer 4-H clubs, Summer Programs, 4-H Summer Overnight Camp, and unique programming opportunities when school is out.

Horticulture
Do you have a knack for gardening, or do you want to learn more? Call our office for more information on becoming a Master Gardener Volunteer of Davie County, and to get personalized information based on your interest! Check out our calender for upcoming classes.

Are you a landscaper and need information on where and how to obtain the necessary credits to obtain or retain your license? Ask us how we can be of service!

Family and Consumer Sciences
Are you looking for how to manage your food costs? Need some ideas on healthy eating and recipes? Interested in canning or need to have your pressure canner checked? Call our Family and Consumer Science Agent for answers to all your healthy living questions.

Field Crops
Are you interested in raising a crop this year? We can offer help in making this a reality for you. From soybeans to corn and more, we have the answers you need!

Need to check and obtain credits for your pesticide license, contact our office for class information.

Livestock
Are cattle, poultry, pigs, and goats your game? We have those answers, too! Let us help work up a waste management plan, or just help with other questions you may have!
