If you have old pesticides that are taking up space in your barn, garage or storage shed, make plans to bring them to the FREE Pesticide Disposal Day on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. Davie County residents, farmers, and anyone who uses pesticides, are invited to participate in this disposal day in Davie County. NC Cooperative
Extension in conjunction with the NC Department of Agriculture will accept any pesticide (insecticide, fungicide, herbicide, etc.) in original containers and clearly labeled. This program is available for Davie and surrounding counties.
There is no charge for this service and most pesticide products will be accepted, including banned and outdated pesticides. For pesticides with unreadable or missing labels, contact the Cooperative Extension office at (336) 753-6100 for instructions. Participants are asked to save any portion of the label to help identify the material to be disposed of. Unknown materials cannot be accepted. Paints and other hazardous waste will not be accepted.
This non-regulatory and cost-free collection will be Wednesday, May 1, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., at the Davie County Extension Center (642 Wilkesboro St. Mocksville). Call the Extension Center 336-753-6100 for more information or directions. This is a great opportunity to properly dispose of any unwanted pesticides.

*Participants with containers greater than 5 gallons in size must contact Davie Extension Center at 336-753-6100 to pre-register at least 1 week prior to the collection.

ACCEPTED PRODUCTS:

  • Herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, rodenticides, etc.
  • New, unopened and partially used products
  • Banned or outdated pesticides

NOT Accepted:

  • Paints or other hazardous waste
  • Unknown materials
  • Products not in pesticide containers
  • Products that are not labeled
