N.C. Cooperative Extension – Clay County Center is happy to announce our new 4-H Youth Development Agent, Mrs. Kiffney Stokes. Kiffney comes to us with a background in 4-H, having been a 4-H member herself and a founding member of Cherokee County 4-H Horse Club in 2002. Her motivation for helping form this club was due to her interest in barrel racing where she competed at the national level.

A woman stands in a garden.

Kiffney is a graduate of North Carolina State University with a bachelor’s in nutrition science. She states, “4-H gave me more than I could have ever asked for and now it is my turn to return the favor and give back to the youth today. I would love to see our clubs and programs grow every chance we get, and I am here to take the first step by being the best agent I can be.” Kiffney is excited to be working for her alma mater and looks forward to helpingthe Clay County 4-H program grow and the youth of Clay County succeed.

Next time you’re in town, stop by and meet Kiffney at the Cooperative Extension office, located at 25 Riverside Circle, Hayesville. If you are interested in volunteering with 4-H or know a youth that would be interested in becoming a member, she can be contacted at (828) 389-6305.
