Gabby Whorley is a Caldwell County native. She graduated from Hibriten High School in 2017 and went on to pursue her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science at NC State. In her time as an undergrad, she was heavily involved with the Animal Science Club, where she found her love for educating the public about the importance of animal agriculture. She spent the majority of her time hanging out with dairy cows and sheep. She really enjoyed showing both sheep and goats with the Animal Science Club as well. She then went on to pursue her master’s degree in Agriculture and Extension Education at NC State as well. During her two years of graduate school, she worked on her thesis which focused on what factors influenced community college transfer students to enroll at NC State’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Gabby was fortunate to have been a three-time intern for 4-H and N.C. Cooperative Extension. She interned once at Burke County, and twice at Caldwell County. Gabby also has a corgi named Raleigh, and is always willing to talk about her dog! She is very excited to be a part of such a wonderful community and program here at Caldwell County 4-H and cannot wait to meet all of the 4-H’ers and their families!
Caldwell County 4-H will host a reception for the public to meet Gabby on July 26th from 3-4 p.m. in the Extension meeting room. Please drop in to say “hello and welcome!”
