Project Record Books

If you have a project going on at home, creating a Project Record Book is very easy. It lets you explore that topic even more and it teaches you about record-keeping, one year at a time. These books give you the opportunity to win money and even awards on the District and State level, just for doing something you enjoy. The books are judged in age categories of 9-10, 11-12, 13-15, 16-18, Cloverbuds (5-8-year-olds as of January 1) may also turn in a project record book, but these books are not judged competitively.

Presentations

Is there anything that you are interested in and already studying or know a lot about? Presentations are a great way to teach others about the things that you love and a way that you can learn more about those topics. Competitions take place each year at County Activity Day and then the winners move on to District Activity Day for a chance to compete at the State level. Age categories are the same as Project Record Books.

Achievement Night

This awards program is held annually in February. This is where youth receive awards for project records, craft entries, performing talents, and club specific awards. Performing talent winners are invited to perform in the 4-H Entertains portion of District Activity Day.

Dairy Quiz Bowl, Skillathon, and Judging

In combination with Yadkin County 4-H we have a team that competes in Dairy Quiz Bowl, Skillathon, and Judging. We learn about dairy cows, their nutrition, equipment needed for a farm and countless other things. We use this information to compete in the different events as a team.

Hippology, Horse Bowl, Horse Judging

Do you want to work in a team atmosphere learning anything and everything about horses? From nutrition and health to reproduction, breeds, colors, tack, and anatomy. These competitions are designed for those brand new to horses as well as seasoned horse lovers! They teach youth a variety of life skills that will help them be successful in any career they choose including a teacher, veterinarian, horse enthusiast, and more.
