Join N.C. Cooperative Extension of Stokes County to learn about Growing Greens for Direct Market. This workshop is aimed at training growers considering production of greens for direct market outlets (tailgate markets, farm stands, CSA, etc.). Craig Mauney, Area Specialized Agent, Commercial Fruit and Vegetable Production will lead the group in discussing production practices for growing a variety of greens in the region. Specific topics include cultivar selection, site establishment (soil conditions and planting), fertilization, irrigation, pruning, harvesting, and resources for pest control.
All participants receive a resource notebook and a scouting lens to take home to their farm. Registration is required and will close on March 17, 2020. If you have any questions, contact Bryan Hartman at (336) 593-8179 or bkhartman@ncat.edu.
