Med Instead of Meds: Learn to Eat the Med Way

— Written By and last updated by

Eating like those in the Mediterranean region has been shown to promote health and decrease the risk of many chronic diseases. Are you interested in eating the Mediterranean way, but not sure where to start? Med Instead of Meds is a six-session class series focused on eating a healthy Mediterranean-style eating pattern (a.k.a eating the Med Way).

The Mediterranean-style eating pattern incorporates the basics of healthy eating that are traditionally practiced in countries that border the Mediterranean Sea. Eating the Mediterranean way is not only healthy, but it is also delicious and satisfying. Foods that you once thought of as too high in fat or unhealthy, including nuts, olive oil, olives, and whole grains, become an everyday part of your diet.

Join N.C. Cooperative Extension, Davie County Center, for a Med Instead of Meds Lunch and Learn series. This Lunch and Learn series will be held from noon to 1:00 p.m., on Friday, October 11 and 18 and November 1, 8, 15, and 22, 2019.  There is a $15 registration fee for the series. The deadline to register is October 4. Contact the office at 336.753.6100 to register. Space is limited. N.C.
